Poolside – I feel high (Feat Drama)
‘I Feel High’ is a song about discovering the themes of being young and invincible. California-based disco producer “Poolside” (Jeffrey Paradise) team up with the Chicago-based duo “Drama” (Rosa and Na’el Shehade). Mixing Poolside dance hall beats, vocals from Rosa and spoken word passages, the track attributes synths, percussion also production from Na’el. The Drama duo has changed the song from Poolside’s classic laid-back vibes to a radical heavy beat. Rosa stated this during the release of the song, “When I was younger me, and my friends would sneak back into the house after a night of partying, the first thing we’d ask each other before going inside is ‘do I look high?’ She continues, “And although I felt the need to incorporate that into the song for ‘personal nostalgia,’ I think everyone has experienced that reality.”
The song is a magnificent anthem that replays in your head and gives a person that intense feeling of energy and hope to overcome any difficulties, i.e., at the heart of “I Feel High.” The track is an overindulged through back at the spills and thrills you get during teenage when you feel nothing can stop you. This track has not misplaced optimism but brought hope as we looked forward to the year 2021. Drama adds, “It’s all about that invincible feeling you get when you’re young, and out with your friends.” As you fuel each other, you became confident and fearless.
Poolside had this to say about the song, “DRAMA transformed the song from a classic laid-back Poolside vibe into a banger for the club that is essentially a celebration of this ecstatic and sometimes reckless thing we call life.” “I Feel High” is a bouncy jam and perfect collaboration between the Drama duo and the daytime disco producer Poolside. It is an overwhelming composition to life and sometimes the reckless way we tend to live it.
