The researcher had expectations of the findings based on the theoretical framework. According to Gilligan’s feminist ethic of care, at stage 3, the principle of nonviolence applies whereby individuals approach a holistic view of care involving self-love and love for others. The researcher expected the participants to demonstrate these principles. The findings, however, indicate no codes and themes were established at this stage.

The purpose of the significant section

The significance section is critical in conveying the relevance and implication of the study to various stakeholders such as scholars, practitioners, and policymakers. McCloskey et al. (2021) advanced the section by first determining the problem to be investigated, for instance, the sex workers’ mothers’ marginalization in health access and mental health due to the prevalent stigmatization of sex work in India. The research then identifies the gap in existing literature to determine what the research will try to achieve. The researcher determined how addressing the gap affects various stakeholders and policy development.

The significance section

McCloskey et al. (2021) identify that sex workers’ mothers in Kamathipura’s red light district face layered stigma. The study identifies that reconceptualizing mothers’ decisions to participate in sex work using the ethic of care theoretical perspective will facilitate acceptance of sexually working mothers. The research will add to limited research on the focus and will inform social work practice in dealing with sex work in the context of motherhood. The section conveys the reliance of the study to address the challenges of misunderstanding sex workers and the stigma related to their misunderstanding.

life outside of the foster care system is riddled with challenges for transitioning youths. Some may opt to trade sex as a means of survival. According to statistics, 63% of sex-trafficked individuals indicate their interaction with the child welfare system. Individuals who have interacted with sex work from foster care may suffer from guilt and shame, which may affect their access to mental health care as well as health care. In the end, transitioning young females are highly likely to face the challenges of sex workers from India.

Current research can determine the effect of stigma on the health and education outcomes of transition foster care youth. The study can also determine how helping society understand the predicaments of transition youth enhances public sympathy for the marginalized population. No literature focuses on transitioning youth’s interaction with sex work. This research will analyze the participation of transitioning youth in sex work as a means of survival.

The Gap in My Research

Studies on LGBTQ transitioning youth identify a gap in the support this population receives during transitioning (Somers et al., 2020). There is a need to determine the cause of variations in access to support among these populations. The study will identify the factors that cause the variations in access to support among the LGBTQ population. This will enable informed policy development to cater to structural and systemic factors in supporting this population. The study will advance a social education program on emancipating the society on stigmatization effects on LGBTQ transitioning foster care youth.
